The sermons are preceded by a note on p. 4: "Here followeth certaine shorte notes or heads of some seuerall sermons publikely preached more fully by Roger Breirley sometime minister at Grindleton Chappell in Craven." No preaching locations are given with the sermons, so it is assumed they were preached at Grindleton.

Glipin's sermon notes are neatly written without corrections. The hand is small but legible.
