Notebook (rebound). Notes at front of volume list the preachers and identify the notetakers as Thomas and Anne Fairfax. These notes refer to the second notetaker as Mary Fairfax, not Anne: "These sermon notes are the handwriting of Tho: Lord Fa / Those of Mr. Bowle and Mr. Cartwright (at the other end) were writ by the Lady Mary Fairfax dauter to the Lord Vere."

Small quarto notebook with some newer sheets added at the beginning. There are few corrections and no marginal annotations.

The volume contains both English and Latin materials.

Paper with brown leather binding. iii + 95 leaves, 96 x 152 mm.

Paper, 12 leaves, small quarto, The later medical recipes in the volume are written in the same hand as the sermons, but the earlier medical recipes are written in a different hand.

Paper, octavo, 107 leaves. The volume has been rebound.

Paper, oblong octavo, 127 leaves. Small volume in original binding with metal clasps. Closely written text. It is difficult to tell where one set of notes ends and another begins. The preacher is unknown.

Original binding. The sides of the volume are stamped with golden ermines. Some texts marked with lines or crosses (perhaps the ones that were used).

The sermon notes have corrections and additions, but no marginal annotations.

Octavo. Brown calf. Blind-tooled panel design. Sewn on four raised bands.

Large rebound notebook. The original flyleaf is preserved and signed "John Scholefield Firth 1782." Further notes about proveance on f. iii: "Joshua Firth Booke" and a later note, "John Scholefield Firth no doubt became the owner of this book on the death of his father John Firth. Aug. 1782.
