Manuscript has been rebound in cloth; some damage to top corners of pages at beginning and end of volume (repaired). Octavo volume. Paginated. Margins are ruled and the divisions of the sermons are noted briefly in the margins.

Note on front flyleaf “Mr Charles Kay. his sermon-book [illegible] 1678.” Small leather-bound notebook. Only numbered page is the first page, which is numbered “181” suggesting that this is a continuation of a previous notebook. Sermons are written out in a neat hand with occasional scriptural references in the margins.

Leather-bound octavo volume with remains of clasps. Note pasted to front cover dated Swansea 23 July 1875. Seal of “Royal Institution of South Wales” donating the volume to the Scottish Society of Antiquaries by George Francis, the volume having belonged to his brother, John Dettett Francis of Swansea (whose signature appears on the fron flyleaf). On the verso of the flyleaf is the inscription “Sermons of Mr Gorge [sic] Campbell which belongs to me Marie Mar Marie Maule Wrytten at Alloa 15 March 1689.” Sermons are beautifully and clearly written. Original page numbering. A later hand has made a few annotations in red pencil.

Octavo leather notebook that has been rebacked. On inside front cover: “Sermon’s [sic] At Eastwood. From July 4.1703. to Aprile 15.1705. By. RN.” “By. RN.” May have been written later as the ink is lighter. On p. iv. Is a list of the texts of the sermons in this volume and the dates on which they were preached. Sept. 26 1703 annotated “after my Call.” And “October 31.1703 annotated “after my ordinat.” Others with their occasions. The sermons are written out neatly in full with occasional minor corrections. Dates consist of the only breaks between sermons on the same text. Original page numbers have been replaced with folio numbering beginning with the first sermon.

Two sets of leaves tipped into a modern binding. The second of these contains a fair copy of a sermon. It is unpaginated and unfoliated. A later hand has added a sentence regarding the destruction of records in the fire. 36 pages (unpaginated and unfoliated).

Large leather-bound volume with evidence of original clasps. Rebacked. Not paginated or foliated. The sermons are neatly and clearly written without marginal annotations. Occasional passages have been underlined, apparently at the time of writing.

Beautiful folio ms. In modern binding. Original pagination and modern foliation.

Quarto vellum-covered notebook with “The Seauenth Book” written on the cover. See also MS 2751 which has Ewens’s name inscribed on it. Volume is unpaginated and unfoliated. The sermons are legibly written.

Collection of leaves from notebooks without binding but with some stitching still attached. Modern foliation.

Small leather-bound notebook with spine stamped “MS Sermons 1650 W M Hamilton." Note pasted into the front of the volume identifies the notebook as part of the library of George Neilson, a Glasgow lawyer who died in 1923. The volume was purchased by the National Library of Scotland in 1927.Autograph sermons. Original pagination. Information in [] comes from later notes on the table of contents and on a few pages pasted onto the back board. Hand is small and sermons are written legibly with occasional notes in margin and some corrections.

Small leather-bound volume. On front flyleaf “Ex libris Miss Jo: Gray. Past: Glascow. Summa Religionis, Imitari quem colis. Nunland May 2: 1706.” Margins are ruled and there are occasional notes in the margins. Modern foliation.

Small notebook (oblong octavo) written from both ends. Ownership inscriptions of R. E. (deleted) and Patrick Plenderleath, minister of Saline, 1709 (f. i) but there is no identification of the author of the notes.

Large folio volume into which sermons on loose sheets (and other texts) have been tipped. Most of the sermons have been folded crosswise and docketed with the scriptural text and the places and dates of preaching.

Leather-bound quarto volume in which printed sermons have been bound together with a single manuscript sermon and another manuscript text at the end (“A vindication of set forms in generall and of the English service in particular” James Law, 1717). On the final endpaper is a Lauriston Castle 1915 bookplate. A later table of contents has been tipped into the volume, preceding a list of the preachers and texts in an earlier hand.

Leather-bound octavo volume re-backed. Signature G. Purefoy is on front flyleaf. Each sermon is individually paginated. The sermons are neatly and legibly written with annotations in the margins. Occasionally the bottom of the page has been used for a footnote. There is significant bleed-through of ink later in the volume. i and ii have miscellaneous notes on scriptural texts, possibly preliminary notes for sermons. Autograph.
