Only numbered page is the first page, which is numbered “181” suggesting that this is a continuation of a previous notebook. Leather-bound octavo volume with remains of clasps. Note pasted to front cover dated Swansea 23 July 1875. Seal of “Royal Institution of South Wales” donating the volume to the Scottish Society of Antiquaries by George Francis, the volume having belonged to his brother, John Dettett Francis of Swansea (whose signature appears on the fron flyleaf). On the verso of the flyleaf is the inscription “Sermons of Mr Gorge [sic] Campbell which belongs to me Marie Mar Marie Maule Wrytten at Alloa 15 March 1689.” Sermons are beautifully and clearly written. Original page numbering. A later hand has made a few annotations in red pencil. |

Octavo leather notebook that has been rebacked. On inside front cover: “Sermon’s [sic] At Eastwood. From July 4.1703. to Aprile 15.1705. By. RN.” “By. RN.” May have been written later as the ink is lighter. On p. iv. Is a list of the texts of the sermons in this volume and the dates on which they were preached. Sept. 26 1703 annotated “after my Call.” And “October 31.1703 annotated “after my ordinat.” Others with their occasions. The sermons are written out neatly in full with occasional minor corrections. Dates consist of the only breaks between sermons on the same text. Original page numbers have been replaced with folio numbering beginning with the first sermon. |

On the final endpaper is a Lauriston Castle 1915 bookplate. A later table of contents has been tipped into the volume, preceding a list of the preachers and texts in an earlier hand. |
