1 vol., 445 folios. Bound in black book cloth. Written in a very clear, elegant hand by Richard Alleine, who has inscribed the book on the title page, and at many points throughout the work, giving the dates on which he copied (or finished copying) several of the sermons, e.g. ff. 22, 50, 68, 87v, 137v, 305, 333, 379, 391 v, 403, 418, 445v, with "Per me R.A.", "Script. R.A.", or "Finis R.A." The manuscript is very well presented, with clearly ruled boundaries on each page, blank pages between each sermon, and enlarged titles.

1 volume, with c. 388 pages. Bound in brown leather, with the spine reinforced in the 19th century. There is an inscription on the inside back cover: "Sarah Henry Her book Jul. 3 1680". On the inside front cover there is a presentation inscription: "From John Higginbottom to his dear Grand-daughter Florence Higginbottom. 'Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing you in psalms and humns and in spiritual songs, singing with grace in your head to the Lord' Col III v 16 Wokingham. October 1st 1862".

On the cover is written "Poor Janry. 2 1714" and "Easter 1719". On the inside leaf are two quotes from Proverbs, seemingly written in a different hand, the same as those of some of the re-preaching dates later in the manuscript. These sermon notes may have been reused by another preacher.
